The Productivity Commission has conducted an inquiry into how New Zealand can transition to a low emissions economy, and required an animation to promote submissions, with a follow up animation on the recommendations to government in the final report. The report identifies options for how New Zealand could reduce its domestic greenhouse gas emissions and transition towards a low emissions future, while continuing to grow incomes and wellbeing.

The issues paper aimed to assist individuals and organisations to participate in the inquiry. It outlined the background to the inquiry, the Commission’s intended approach, and the matters about which the Commission was seeking comment and information. The paper contains specific questions to which responses were invited. Submissions were due by 2 October 2017.
