Robot + Dolphins

This is one of the most amazing clips I have watched in a long time, of a pod of Dolphins interacting with a robot dinosaur at Seaworld. Two minutes into the clip is where things start to get really interesting as the pod of dolphins become transfixed with the little Pleo.

ubot - The Real WALL-E

Robots to help the elderly may be here sooner than you think. In South Korea they are drawing up an ethical charter for Robot Rights, and Japanese Robotics are said to date back over four hundred years:

"Among Japan's oldest robots are the karakuri ningyo, or mechanical dolls. Karakuri ningyo are believed to have originated in China. During the Edo period (1603-1867), Takeda-za developed a mechanical-puppet theater which flourished in Osaka's Dotonbori district."  (Wikipedia: Japanese Robotics)

So if, like me you are planning on staying child-free,  then a Ubot may be very handy around the house in a few years. Video thanks to ScienceHacks, where every video is screened by a scientist for accuracy.
