Tales from the Twitterverse
Submitted by Ms Behaviour on Fri, 13/02/2009 - 00:30
Twitter was launched back in 2007, and a whole new language has emerged from this microblogging service. Over a million tweeple across the world are now twittering about their lives in 140 character tweets sent online or by mobile phone using SMS.
Celebrities I follow include British actor Stephen Fry of Blackadder fame, who recently relayed his escapades while stuck in a lift to over 100,000 followers. Yoko Ono posts some sweet tweets about peace and makes me smile daily, and Wil Wheaton (the young actor from Star Trek) makes me grin on a regular basis.
I wrote a column last year on Microblogs & Tweets and the creative use of the Twitterverse since then has amazed me. The Telegraph reports a 974% increase in Twitter use over the past year and it is estimated that more than 2.25 million tweets are sent daily.

Design Your Space
Submitted by Ms Behaviour on Thu, 29/01/2009 - 17:28I have just spent a satisfying few weeks, re-designing the Mohawk Media studios. I start every new year throwing out rubbish, filing old paperwork and working out our needs for the year. The process helps clear my head and focus after the holidays.
When you design a space whether online or off the first thing to consider is the purpose. What activities do you want to take place in your space, and what outcomes would you like to come from them?

Aspergers & the Geek Syndrome (podcast)

Listen to Aspergers & The Geek Syndrome, with Chelfyn, MsBehaviour & Wammo on Kiwi FM >>

The recent case of teen Hacker Owen Thor Wilson caught running an illegal botnet, has highlighted Asperger's Syndrome in the IT Industry and geek community. I think the New Zealand judge did the right thing giving him a second chance, as he is the product of enforced social isolation, bullying and misunderstanding.
Aspergers Syndrome is considered to be on the milder end of what is now called the Autistic Spectrum, and I am a strong supporter of autism advocacy for three reasons. Firstly some of the brightest and best geeks I have worked with have been aspies. Secondly I am married to an amazing clever, creative geek who is an aspie boy, and finally in a rare quirk of genetic fate - I myself am an aspie girl.
